この作品はおそらくセールス的には惨敗だったはず。鈴木康博さんの、ある意味分岐点とも言えるのではないだろうか。私は当時CDで購入したが、やはりあまり良さを感じなかった。当時の流行に逆行しているような内容というのも理由のひとつかもしれない。しかし20年経過した今聞き返したところ鳥肌立つほど、そのサウンド、メロディー、歌詞に感動した。非常にアコギやパーカッションが上手に効果的なおかつ綺麗に使われており、詩の内容も私世代の現在に合致。これは是非アナログレコードで改めて堪能したいと思い様々な中古レコード店を探したが、見つからない。前述したセールス数の関係もあるのだろう。半ば諦めかけていたときにネット通販品を発見。迷わず入手。届いたその日に針を落とし少々大きめの音量で視聴。やはり予想していたとおりレコードのほうがアコギの音色、響きがリアルだ。ギター特有の倍音が良く確認できる。パーカッションの存在も際立つ。これはCDとレコードの特性の違いが明らかだ。A面は完成度の高い曲で構成され申し分ない。個人的にベストは「君について」だ。綺麗なアコギのイントロに続き出てくる歌詞は「もう、これで君との生活が終わる」だ。非常に上手い構成だ。曲が進行するにつれバックの楽器も増え盛り上げて最終的にはアコギのみで終わる。まるで短編ドラマのようだ。B面は対して実験的な要素も含まれた曲で構成される。「夢で逢いましょう」は昭和歌謡を彷彿させる佳作だ。ラストの「時代を超えて」は鈴木康博さんの当時の心境だろう。もう流行路線とは決別する意思を感じる。しかし現実的に当時のライバルたちと同じ土俵で競うのは厳しかっただろう。鈴木さん本人が土俵から下りたと捉えるのが現実だと思う。しかし業界は厳しい。良い作品を作り上げることができても売れないアーティストは続々リストラしていく。鈴木さんもその道を辿っていった。しかし本人は未だ現役で精力的な活動をしている。今回のように過去の作品の素晴らしさが世間で再確認され再び表舞台に出てくることを望んでやまない。「ララバイ」はその可能性を秘めた名作だ。

ＣＤより高音質とのことで購入。 ＣＤでは潰されているバックの楽器の音や、ボーカルの微妙な声のニュアンスが、これほどまでに違うのか、と思われる位良く聞こえる。 いまだにアナログレコードを聴き続ける人がいなくならない理由がわかる一品である。
